Connect Gmail to ChatGPT and find conversations waiting for a reply
A customer has replied to a proposal. A supplier is waiting for confirmation. With Gmail connected, ask ChatGPT to find conversations that still need action and prepare a response using the thread’s context.

Source guide updated 2026-10-13. Features depend on your plan, permissions and environment.
Connect the accounts you need
Use the available Gmail plugin or app connection, choose the Google account and review its requested permissions. Each account is authorized separately. Test it with a known message and check whether searching, reading, drafting or sending is available in your environment. When replying, specify the sender account.
Define what needs a reply
Start with a bounded period, such as the last 14 days and a maximum of ten threads. Ask for conversations where a person made a request and later messages do not resolve it. An unread email may be a promotion; a read email may still need a reply. Exclude newsletters and automated notifications.
Combine sources and review the result
You can use Gmail with other authorized connections in one conversation: a proposal in Drive, availability in Calendar or customer context in a CRM. Specify the source for each fact. Ask for the sender, the pending request, supporting evidence and the suggested next action. Broaden or narrow the search if results are noisy.
Draft, review or send
Ask for a response using the full thread, without inventing commitments. Where your environment supports it, open a draft in the integrated browser for review. If you want direct sending, explicitly specify the recipient, account and final action. Confirm the actual send result; a prepared draft is not a sent message. Turn a tested procedure into a reusable skill if it becomes recurring.
